Minara Masjid Trust Estate
The Minara Masjid Trust estate is the biggest Spiritual Gift of the business Memon Community to the City of Mumbai, especially to its Muslim Community.
Located on the Mohammed Ali Road it’s Minarets are giving the message of the Almighty and peace to all passersby. This is not just a Masjid but part of the iconic character/ identity of Mumbai City.
A Historic Legacy
Foundation & Origins
The Said Minara Masjid Trust Estate was formed by the Memon Community in the year 1879 through a scheme approved by the HON’BLE HIGH COURT OF MUMBAI. However, the structures were constructed much prior to this date.
Since then it’s very ably managed by the Memon Community. All through the time of approximately 150 years. Well known and reputable business families of the Memon Community have managed the Trust.
Governance & Registration
As India was under British occupation in 1879 All trust were regd with the High Court. Therafter after independence in 1947 the Charity Commissioner was formed and The Minara Masjid Trust Estate was registered under No: B 331 in the year 1952 and continues to be so ever since.
Estate includes: Minara Masjid (Mohammed Ali Road), Ashrafi Masjid (Piru Lane), shops, godowns, and Chawls.

Architecture & Atmosphere
It hosts approximately 5000 worshippers at a time and it’s grandeur in the month of Ramadan is a treat to watch. Approximately 2000 people break their fast everyday within the premises in the overwhelming spiritual atmosphere.
The adjoining Ebrahim merchant road named after a former trustee of the very same mosque bustles with visitors from across India during the month of Ramadan who come to witness the enamoring sight of the Ramadan festivities and relish the traditional dishes simultaneously.

Spiritual Legacy
It also serves as a permanent abode to many saints of the pre-independence era. The shrine lies in the basement of the mosque.

مینارہ مسجد ٹرسٹ اسٹیٹ شہرِ ممبئی کے لیے، بالخصوص اس کی مسلم برادری کے لیے، تاجر میمن کمیونٹی کا سب سے عظیم روحانی تحفہ ہے۔
محمد علی روڈ پر واقع اس کے بلند و بالا مینار ہر آنے جانے والے کو ربِّ کائنات کی یاد اور امن و سلامتی کا پیغام دیتے ہیں۔ یہ محض ایک مسجد نہیں بلکہ شہرِ ممبئی کی شناخت اور تہذیبی کردار کا ایک نمایاں حصہ ہے۔
تقریباً ڈیڑھ صدی سے یہ ٹرسٹ میمن کمیونٹی کی نہایت باصلاحیت نگرانی میں ہے۔ معروف اور معزز تاجر خاندانوں نے ہر دور میں اس کی خدمت و انتظام سنبھالا ہے۔
سنہ 1879ء میں جب ہندوستان برطانوی اقتدار کے تحت تھا تو تمام ٹرسٹ ہائی کورٹ میں رجسٹرڈ ہوتے تھے۔ بعد ازاں آزادی کے بعد 1947ء میں محکمۂ چیریٹی کمشنر قائم ہوا اور مینارہ مسجد ٹرسٹ اسٹیٹ کو سنہ 1952ء میں رجسٹریشن نمبر B-331 کے تحت درج کیا گیا، جو آج تک برقرار ہے۔

مینارہ مسجد ٹرسٹ اسٹیٹ باقاعدہ طور پر سنہ 1879ء میں میمن کمیونٹی کے ذریعے اس اسکیم کے تحت قائم کی گئی جسے معزز ہائی کورٹ آف ممبئی کی منظوری حاصل تھی، تاہم اس کے بعض ڈھانچے اس تاریخ سے بھی پہلے تعمیر ہو چکے تھے۔

یہ مقدس مقام عہدِ ماقبلِ آزادی کے متعدد اولیائے کرام کا مدفن بھی ہے، خصوصاً:
- حضرت سید عبداللہ شاہ قادریؒ (وصال: 1815ء)
- حضرت سید مظفر حسین شاہ قادریؒ (وصال: 1820ء) – عرس: 8 ذوالحجہ
- حضرت مفتی سید عبدالفتاح حسینی گلشن آبادیؒ (وصال: 1905ء) – ممتاز عالم اور ایلفنسٹن کالج کے پروفیسر۔
یہ روحانی و تاریخی مجموعہ اُن تمام افراد کے لیے ایک لازمی زیارت گاہ ہے جو ہند-اسلامی تہذیب کے مسحور کن جلووں کا مشاہدہ کرنے کا شوق رکھتے ہیں۔
